Here I am, Lord

In the bible, the phrase, “Here I am, Lord” was mentioned a lot of times. Abraham mentioned it in Genesis 22:1 – “Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,”he replied.Jacob  mentioned it too in Genesis 31:11 – “The angel of Godsaid to me in the dream,Jacob.” I answered, ‘Here I am.’

Another person who mentioned that phrase was Moses in  Exodus 3:4 – “When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush,“Moses! Moses!”

And Moses said, “Here I am.”

Samuel also mentioned it in 1 Samuel 3:4 – Then the LORD called Samuel. Samuel answered, “Here I am.”

The phrase “Here I am” means that I am ready Lord, use me. Most of the time however, as Christians, we would have lots of excuses such as “I am not holy!”, “I am not capable!”, “I am young!”, “I
can’t talk well” and many more.

Remember this…

The next time you feel like God cannot use  you, just remember…

Abraham was too old…
Jacob was a liar…
Noah was a drunk…
Joseph was abused…
David was a murderer…
Isaac was a daydreamer…
Moses had a stuttering problem…
Gideon was afraid…
Timothy was too young…
Jonah ran from God…
Job went bankrupt…
Peter denied Christ…
The Disciples fell asleep while praying…
Martha worried about everything…
Zaccheus was too small…AND

Lazarus was dead!!!

…no more excuses now. God can use us to
our full potential. Besides, we are not the message, we are just the messenger.

God never asks for ability or inability,
what He asks for is our availability!!!

The next time God calls us, let’s answer
“Here I am, Lord”.
